12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a moderate off-white head, some lace. Smells slightly of roasted and sweet malts. Tastes sweet and ripe, red fruit malty. A little weird tasting. Sweet, slightly roasty, slightly sour. Medium body, good carbonation.

12 oz bottle from Liquid Solutions. Chilled for 1 1/4 hrs.Pours a midnight black with a small tan head. Nice roasty aroma with notes of vanilla, chocolate and espresso. Starts out sweet and finishes with bittersweet roasted cocoa/coffee. Almost chewy. Full bodied for a Porter. Borders on Baltic porter/imp Stout terrirtory but with less abv. This is my 2nd Mt. Shasta beer and i like them both. Their Abner Ale is going to be a staple, and this will now be my #1 go-to session Porter. Session? OMG this is one of the best beers i have ever tasted, session or no..Easily as good as a $10 import...Am SO glad to have found this brewery!

Great looking mahogany ,brown ale, with a nice thick, frothy light brown head. Very pleasant , dark chocolate aromas. with a slight milky scent. Quite a "chocolate" style porter In my opinion. The taste is dominated by semi-sweet chocolate style malts, there is however a noticable hop bitterness nearing the end.Along with nice taosty oat like falvours..very nice. Very good on the palte, smooth and not overly "thick" for the style. I found this to be a really comlex yet highly drinkable porter..well done.

12oz bottle. Served at 62° in a duvel tulip. No date, I have only had for a month or two and it has spent a lot of time in the beerfridge. The aroma is hitting me alrady and the glass is a foot away on my desk! When I stick my nose into the glass I get HUGE roast and a backing of spicy hops? and tart cherries? There is also a bit of cofee and dark chocolate in the mix. The intial mouthfeel is large. The taste is roasty, spicy, tart, with some burnt notes and alcohol. The finish is long and bitter from the roast and hops. Very enjoyable. Thanks to KenB for this.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a frothy and lasting light tan head. Deep chocolate and toffee aromas with some dark fruit notes. Medium bodied with big chocolate flavors along with tons of coffee notes. Musty, earthy notes.

Nearly black in color with a tan head. Roasty coffee and cocoa aroma. Fruity, roasted barley flavor, with some hints of licorice and chocolate. This one wasn’t too bad, it had some nice subtle flavors going on, but its missing something.

Six pack from Market of Choice. Pours out a deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roast, caramel, chocolate and a light hint of coffee. Flavor much the same, with a very nice dry finish. Miles better than their Lemurian Lager.
