courtesy of Kenb. Thanks for clearing this one from my wants list. Aroma is a nice mix of hops and dark chocolate aromas with some subtler fruity aromas mixed in. Body is flat black and holds a creamy mocha colored head that is thumb thick and diminishes slowly. Lace clings to the glass. Fore is bittersweet chocolate with very lucious dark cherry notes in the middle. Finishes with a roasty bitterness that reminds me of a scaled down version of Gonzo Imperial Porter. I figured this would be decent, but it’s actually very damn good. Definitely more aggresively hopped than most porters. That works well here and amplifies the latent coffee notes in the aftertaste. Tastes much bigger than you’d expect from a 6% abv beer. Excellent porter!

12oz bottle via trade with kenb! - Thanks ken! - Pours black with a beautiful creamy mocha head that stays well and leaves lots of lacing on the glass. Aromas of roasted malts, coffee, and a bit of coffee. Good coffee and roasted malt flavor dominate but there is some sweet chocolate there too. Thick rich and robust good carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. This is a very good porter!! Fantastic!

Many, many thanks to Dave for tracking this down for me!! Poured a deep, murky brown with a huge, sticky, well-retained cap of dark brown head. The aroma began with well-roasted dark chocolates and coffee grounds.. warmth brought out the real goods, in the name of spicy pepper and pine bitterness, some deeply-rooted caramel, and star anise.. just decadent, and expertly balanced!

This was very hoppy in the flavor department.. pepper, grapefruit, and pine bitterness singe the tongue ever-so-slightly on the fore, with rich malty goodness falling into place right behind.. almost burnt dark chocolate, coffee, and molasses round out the middle, with coffee, pine, and floral bitterness on the burnt finish.. left a lenghty impression. Medium-plus bodied with a lot of hoppy bitterness, but balanced well by solid malt usage. This was a truly excellent porter!

Must be from kenb. This was an incredible Porter. Hugely complex and this might be my faovite Porter now. Massive chocolate, more like eating a piece of Grandma’s homemade chocolate cake. This was thick and rich

Ever so slight foamy top. Mostly right around the glass edge. Dark dark brown with a touch of red in the body. Very pleasing aroma of what I remember a traditional porter to be. Good flavor. Coffe and chocolate malts. Doesn’t follow the trend of other porters to border on the bitterness of the stout spectrum. Average body. Generally a very nice porter!!

Bottle from footbalm, thanks Eric! Medium statured brown head, good retention and nice lacing. A dark porter, almost black in color. Fat, roasty, chocolatey, coffeeish nose with some hop spiceyness coming through. Medium body, munchy, lightly oily, slick with good carbonation. Nicely roasty, chocolatey, caramely, bittersweet chocolate and lightly spicey. Well balanced. Dry, lingering finish. A nice, big ass Porter. Thanks again Eric!

Great looking mahogany ,brown ale, with a nice thick, frothy light brown head. Very pleasant , dark chocolate aromas. with a slight milky scent. Quite a "chocolate" style porter In my opinion. The taste is dominated by semi-sweet chocolate style malts, there is however a noticable hop bitterness nearing the end.Along with nice taosty oat like falvours..very nice. Very good on the palte, smooth and not overly "thick" for the style. I found this to be a really comlex yet highly drinkable porter..well done.
