This was a very solid porter. Black, creamy head, and tasty flavors of roast, a little smoke, some coffee grounds. It was easy to drink but the flavor was actually strong enough that I wouldn’t want more than one in a sitting.

No date, I have only had for a month or two and it has spent a lot of time in the beerfridge. The aroma is hitting me alrady and the glass is a foot away on my desk! When I stick my nose into the glass I get HUGE roast and a backing of spicy hops? and tart cherries? There is also a bit of cofee and dark chocolate in the mix. The intial mouthfeel is large. The taste is roasty, spicy, tart, with some burnt notes and alcohol. The finish is long and bitter from the roast and hops. Very enjoyable. Thanks to KenB for this. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 29, 2006 12 oz bottle, via Dubbercody. Pours a very dark brown, clear, under a foamy tight bubbled dark brown head with decent retention. Heavy chocolate malt aroma, almost fudgecake like, with a lighter roasted note. Some coffee and light yeast notes as well. The flavor has quite a bit of roast for a Porter, but the chocolate malt is there in force as well. A nice balancing bitterness ties it all together. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with very fine prickly carbonation. This was a really great surprise, a full flavored well rounded Porter. Worth seeking out. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Nutty, coffee nose with lots of robust maltiness. Well-carbonated mouth feel. Lots of coffee in flavor and in finish. This is a well-built beer. Yum! BuckeyeBoy (1670), Boise, Idaho, USA

Aroma of malt and a touch of green olive. Tast roast malt and some nice bitter coffee. A solid porter after4ever (2766), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 24, 2008 12-oz. Cute little name, label, bottle caps, etc. Black with ultra light gray rim. Huge sour coffee nose. Creamy, oily body. Nice soft woolly fizzy carb. Coffee, chocolate, and roast on the mid-palate, though the coffee is hugely reduced from the nose, much more balanced and harmonious with the other notes. Mild chocolatey finish.
