Courtesy of After4ever – thanks Tom. It’s pitch black with a huge, light brown, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has a light sweetness, notes of roasted malt and licorice. The flavour has a light sweetness and a roasted bitterness, notes of chocolate, licorice and it’s smooth and full-bodied and the finish is dry and roasted. It’s charming.

great drinkable offering from a hodump brewery. if you are even in weed, you will grateful for this beer! pours dark drown with a head that rises and falls quickly. nice lacing. aroma is roast, resin, chocolate, and some earthy, musty notes. taste is very similar, lots of chocolate present, bitter malts, sweet malts, but nothing too attention grabbing. some slight dark fruitnnkotes are there. the mouth is medium creamy, pretty nice all the way through. pretty sessionable beer, probably even for non geeks.

Tap... Poured black with amber highlights with a brown head. Roasted malt aroma, strong chocolate presence with malt and some hops to balance. Chocolate-mocha-coffee-ish aftertaste.

Aroma is nutty and roasty. Flavor is full bodied, but rounds out. A nice full bodied Porter. Finishes clean like a porter should. Nose is full of roasty, malty notes.

Rerate, 12oz bottle, picked up from Bottle Barn. Really surprised to see this on the shelf! Sitting down with a whole bottle of this, this really reminds me a lot of General Lafayette’s Chocolate Thunder Porter, with that dense, nougat and chocolate core that coats the palate without overwhelming it; nicely toasty throughout; slightly lax aroma of basic chocolate and caramel notes; this really shines in the mouth: velvety, perfectly presented mouthfeel of dense chocolate and nougat and marshmallow notes; just an impressively tasty, generous, nicely presented porter; a nice beer. Lengthy finish of bitter chocolate, coffee, and that same fine balance of light bitterness and complex malt character. 6.4.8.5.15=3.8

12oz bottle, courtesy of Schutzenliesel. Thanks, Tom! Pours a hazy, dark chocolate brown color; thin light-tan head with patchy lacing. Lots of nougat, raw peanuts, and some funky, chocolatey cardboard; odd. Medium mouthfeel: chewy nougat, bitter chocolate, and oily peanuts; relaxed carbonation; oily, filling and pleasant overall; tasty save for the nose. Medium finish: dry, toasty malts, and dark chocolate. 6.3.7.4.14=3.4

12 oz bottle from iowaherkeye! Nose of chocolate covered nuts with a cup of roasty coffee. Clear dark cherry brown with a small beige head. Flavor is coffee with light bitterness and a hint of smoke combined with a light white peppery finish.

I’m very impressed with this porter, very rich and roasty with a good body and nice coffee finish. Pours black with a nice tan head. Very roasty throughout finishing with a very bitter coffee bite. Very smooth and has more weight on the palate than many porters making feel nice and full.
