Bottle: Dark brown with a light brown frothy head. Choco aroma abounds. Usual charcoal, burnt flavors with a bit of tanginess following it. Thin feel and a solid brew. Time to head to Weed.

12oz bottle. Pours a deep brown with a small beige head, some lacing. Lots of toffee, caramel, and coffee on the nose. A lot more spice than expected as well. Brew had a finish of bitter chocolate.

Bottle. The name and label are just a little too cute. That plus the location conjures images of a couple of guys sitting around smoking enough to make any name sound like a good idea at the time. Pours nearly opaque blackish brown with a dark tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate. Creamy medium body and moderate carbonation. The taste starts out sweet with chocolate, roasted nuts, then dries out an moves to espresso a little ash on the finish. This one flirts more than a little with stout characteristics.

Bottle from Total Wine and More in Roseville, CA. Poured a back color with a small head. Tasted of chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Smooth and very easy to drink for a porter.

12oz bottle. Dark brown color that is a little on the light side for a porter, with a smallish beige head. The aroma is rich and intriguing with some toffee, roasted malt, cinnamon spice, nutmeg, and toasted grain. The flavor is like creamy chocolate milk with a light roasted edge and mild hops. A little bit on the sweet side and not very bitter at all. Really pleasurable overall with a silky medium body. The only thing that would make throwing more than one of these back easier would be a drier finish.

Pours dark brown with med. brown head and lacings. Nice cocoa hoppy aroma. Bitter chocolate taste. Very smooth and an easy drinker. Need to do a side-by-side with Deschutes Black Butte Porter which I consider a benchmark porter. This version is really good. Recommended.

Six pack from Market of Choice. Pours out a deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roast, caramel, chocolate and a light hint of coffee. Flavor much the same, with a very nice dry finish. Miles better than their Lemurian Lager.
