Commercial Description:
Mountain Bitter is a contemporary interpretation of a Yorkshire Best Bitter. It is a glowing copper coloured beer with a creamy head and an aroma of tangerines, biscuit and oak. In the mouth it carries light caramel flavours and a very firm and quenching bitterness. A great pairing with simple pizza, grilled game bird , aged cheddar or for that occasion when lots of real flavor is desired.

Apparently modelled on an ESB. Dark and quite full bodied. Malt profile reveals raisins and caramel argumented by a soft hop kick. Not so true to style, but decent enough.

330ml bottle. Thick, creamy beige head atop a deep copper body. Looks robust and inviting with aromas of floral hops, citrus it smells as good as it looks. Strong flavour that sits in the mouth and lingers. Coppery aftertaste but not unpleasant.

A great Pale Ale. Rich gold colour with small head that did dissappear perhaps a tad early. Earthy hop nose with some woody highlights. plenty of bitterness in the mouth without overiding the malt. Highly drinkable, and very much what one would expect from an English bitter.... I should have bought more.

Sample at MT Brewery. Pours dark amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma and flavour of biscuit malt, caramel, citrus and plenty of earthy character. Medium bodied with a chewy mouthfeel. Overall a solid bitter. Nice one.

Very true to style and like most of the other MT beers very very well made. One quick sniff confirms its English bitter credentials with lifted caramel malts and super fresh hops. Palate is very elegant and balanced with the hops and bitterness driving the flavours. Flavours broaden in the back palate and despite the quite noticeable bitterness this beer is very smooth and quaffable. I said this about the MT Dubbel as well but this is as good as any Aussie bitter getting around at the moment.
