Munro Cranberry Melomel

Yellow pink body that is still after the pour. The aroma is fruity, of cranberry and red apple, with a touch of raspberry. The taste is semi-sweet honey mixed with fruit (cranberry, raspberry) and a tart and bitter appleskin. Sweet, and has the same sugar content as some of their other meads, but the cranberry seems to create an acidity or dryness that is welcome. This is a nice replacement for fruit wine or ice-wine where a sweet and luscious beverage is required. I like it.

Bottle shared with a bunch of folks at Doug’s - courtesy of tupalev. Orange-pink colour. Aroma has odd notes of watermelon and cherry with a hint of cranberry. Flavour starts dry and tart, but turns sweeter in the finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours an orange-pinkish body with no head. The aroma is fruity which includes cherry pits and cranberries. Very sweet though the palate is lightish and fluffy. A certain juiciness with a touch of tartness at times. Not bad.

Item #11 at June 2006 Toronto cider/mead -fest - bottle from tupalev. Light peach colour, aroma of cranberry, alcohol and white wine - taste cranberry & alcohol - meh mouthfeel, overall I liked this one a lot, I felt the tart cranberry off-set the honey sweetness and the booze nicely.

Bottle at our mead/cider tasting at Doug’s. Pinkish copper colour. Really nice tart cranberry aroma. Same nice tart cranberry in taste; problem is I don’t really like cranberry! Sweet syrupy alcohol. Probably the most unbalanced mead so far. Ok.

Pale pink/rose colour. No carbonation. Sweet honey, cranberry, & apple aroma w/ light note of cheese & barnyard. Light-medium, somewhat sugary feel. Flavour of honey, sharp cheese, & mildly tart fruit (cranberry, apple, grape).

pink colur. flowery honey aroma with pear, apple and cranberry fruit notes. some slight barnyard. flavour seems kind of between a mead and a cider. not bad.
