Taste is also light roast malt, cream and some chocolate. Sticks to the glass. Very nice creamy body, but a bit watery. Fairly dry finish. Slightly more balanced than Guiness. A good drinker. buckeyebeerman (11), Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Enjoyed via both draft and nitrogenated can. Pours a jet black, with the characteristic creamy light tan head. Notes of caramel and darkly toasted/burnt bread come through in the nose. Palate is smooth and clean, inviting for anyone from the novice beer drinker to the types usually seen frequenting "ratebeer." I got notes of "Maris Otter-type" maltiness, caramel, and roastiness. Finishes relatively dry and very clean on the palate. Perfect for an evening listening and dancing to Irish music at a warm pub. Leighton (296), New York, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2009 Really solid. A lot like Guinness except I find it a bit lighter and a little less flavorful. Very thick, beige head. Rich malt/coffee/chocolate flavor. Very smooth with mild carbonation. jimmack34 (569), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2009 16 oz can. Pours very dark brown with a small, but very creamy head. Smells of coffee and chocolate. Tastes of roasted chocolate malt, some coffee, cream, and barley. Creamy smooth mouthfeel with very fine carbonation. Less flavor than a Guinness but not a bad brew. trapez (825), Hilleroed, Denmark

| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Brother purchased this for St. Patricks day. Didn’t really like this much. Came in cans. Tasted just like Guinness, and seeing that I am not a fan of Guinness I am not a fan of this, and I am Welsh! Just too thin, a little roast/smokey flavor, but not enough for me to like it. Palate is just too thin for this stout to be great. The hop profile is somewhat decent. This beer actually had a noticeable hop profile. Sorry I don’t share the same views as my fellow drinks. Just not an English/Irish Stout fan.
