| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 18, 2008 Nitro can. Typical watery, pasteurized stout. Some roastiness, but overbalanced on the bitter side of things. illidurit (891), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Pours a dark mahogany with an ecru head of about half a finger. It makes up for this modesty in height by having insane retention. Score one for the nitro can. As a result of the ever-present foam, there’s a nice amount of lacing.
Aroma is pretty faint. There’s a bit of chocolate and a bit of roastiness, but nothing else.
Flavor is also pretty weak, but it’s not as gross as Guinness. Inoffensive watery chocolate and roasted barley.
Mouthfeel is about what you’d expect from a can with a nitro widget inside: flat and creamy. There’s about as much carbonation here as there is in coffee, although the texture is quite silky. This is the perfect beer to throw into a carbomb and not even taste anything. pepsican (885), The Student Ghetto, Iowa, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Mar 16, 2008 black with a creamy off white head. Aroma of coffee and bananas. Not much going on in the flavor. Coffee, banana, off flavors, chocolate, roasty malts. Finishes way too thin, quick finish. Meh. alobar (1026), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Dark color-black. Creamy off-white head. Not much aroma-some malts. Clearly a nitrogen beer. Use to love those. Not so much anymore. Thin body. Soem roasted barley and malts in flavor. Seemed watered down. ansermadide (516), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Okay, I don’t like nitrogenated cans. At this point they seem to be beneath my principles. One of those insanely dark, but even more insanely watery. I felt betrayed. Something felt a little off-balance. The chocolate/coffee flavors were noticeable, but (again) it was so watery that I just couldn’t take it seriously. DTM (541), Winters, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Nitro can from Nugget in Davis, CA. Aroma of chocolate and roasted nuts. Tastes of chocolate and coffee flavors. Much like the more popular Guinness, but think-bodied. Smooth and creamy on the palate. EithCubes (2151), Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Nitro-canned. Chocolate, caramel, and strong toffee-nut aroma with with slight burnt nuts. Pitch pour with a nitro-creamy beige head. Body is beyond watery yet still maintains unusually creaminess of feel; taste is almost non-existent save for the slight cigarette ash. Flat with a touch of astringency and toast. Man, what could have been. kidmartinek (986), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2008 Smell like barn grains, very nice, wheat, sorguhm, barley, bahia. Very pleasing to my farm nose. A dark brown, almost black beer with a glorious head. Mild roasted malt flavor witha velvet smooth finish. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of roasted malt. Still an excellent beer.
