Jan 22, 2008 From a can, this was dark brown with tan head and good lacing. Nose of roasted malts and chocolate. Rich mouthfeel. Roasted malts dominate and the finish is dry.

Jan 21, 2008 ON TAP: pours like a beautiful, delicious milkshake with a nice thick beige head and long lasting nitrogen rising up from the depths of the dark cola-colored blackness. It’s been 5 minutes and the head hasn’t budged, interesting. I can’t wait any longer. Metallic taste is rather odd and puts me off. Somewhat flat flavor. Hmm, I wonder if I got a bad keg. Short finish, slightly dry with some hints of chocolate. Not that great which surprises me. I’ll have to rate it again at another bar.

Jan 21, 2008 A typical Irish stout in the Guinness fashion, Murphy’s has a slightly more roasted flavor to it than Guinness does and is a bit dryer than Beamish. I enjoy all three regularly.
