Nitro-can. The color of this stout is near black. The head is beige colored and creamy. Aroma of roasted malt, toffee, light chocolate and coffee. The taste is sweet at first with notes of toffee and milk chocolate, then roasted malt. coffee and bitterness. The mouthfeel is creamy and dry, but also thin.

Nitro can. I tried this alongside Beamish and thought they were very similar, but with Murphy’s being slightly more bitter at the end. Also, Beamish seemed to have more nuanced flavors of roasted coffee and/or chocolate. In addition, the Murphy’s seems slightly more watery. But the differences aren’t huge. I haven’t tried it side by side, but Guinness isn’t much different either.

Rerate: 16oz can. Lightly chocolately and wet-roasted malt aroma with a hint of sweetness. black with a thick nitro head. A little malty with some light sweetness and chocolate before some bitterness in the finish. Flat and weirldy creamy; that at least hasn’t changed. Better than when I first had it (those were interesting days, but that’s another story) and pleasant if not really something that I would want often. A good session stout in a pinch though.

50cl nitro can at Wermlands. Black with a creamy nitro head. Not much aroma, maybe some faint roasted malt. Creamy flat, and thin body. Very dry, a little bitter from the roasted malt, and unpleasantly sour tasting on top of that. I’ve had it better, but this was a let down. (5,4,5,3,10)

0.5 l can opened with big pop. Poured dark brown, almost black body with medium bigger creamy ocher head, typical for nitro’d stouts. Coffee aroma, with some hints of chocolate and some fruit hops. Flavor is of course dominated by the coffee, pretty full bodied, dry generally, of course, which is specially felt in the finish dominated by the coffee again. Well, greatly beats nitro’d Guiness, even close to the normal Guiness. I am not really lover of those dry stouts, but I appreciate this one, as of its nice character, and not watery as the others.
