Roasted malt aroma with some smoke. Mouthfeel is creamy yet thin. Slightly sour initially but fades to a semi-bitter roasted finish with some light smoke. Finish brings out a tad bit of coffee. Not as good as Guinness if you ask me. iowaherkeye (1860), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2007 16oz can, no date. Pours a very deep clear ruby, almost black, with a two and a half finger creamy light beige head with great retention. As most nitros are, this is very pretty. Aroma has roasted malts and chocolate, grain, light lactose, and a hint of smoke. Flavor more roasty with some milk chocolate, light paper, some metal, and all the other aromas as well. Dry finish with low bitterness (2 out of 10). Light body with very low carbonation, a bit too thin as most nitros are. I have no idea why this is rated higher than Guinness, which for the last two years I’ve told everyone is inferior to this. I rated this as a dry stout, not as a regular beer. If I had, this would probably be only a 3.2 or 3.3. cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA

Pours an extremely dark color with ample head. Smooth taste very easy to drink and has always been enjoyable for me. Nothing significant with this one although I do prefer the taste of Murphy’s over Guiness. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 6, 2007 Bottle, Can Pint glass. fairly light roasted aroma, pours pretty dark with a nice tan head, thats creamy, plenty of nitrogen carbonation. Ok roasted notes but not many, finishes dry, creamy. Not bad, but nothing very specatular either. Its better than guinness. BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 29, 2007 One of my first stouts and not a bad one at that time. Now times has changed and I only drink it if anything else (in the highend-scale) is not available. But not that bad. jhumphries69 (730), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2007 Pours a deep, dark black with a thick, creamy, light tan head that lasts forever. The aroma is light with some coffee notes and some mild hops. The flavor is quite nice - unexpectedly so. Not as grainy tasting as other dry stouts here in Dublin. It has notes of chocolate, and more noticable malt flavors (though still light and dry enough to qualify as a dry stout). The finish is dry with an aftertaste of coffee. Overall, more enjoyable than its more popular cousin (Guinness)
