| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 21, 2009 frothy, black, medium body, creamy, soft carbonation - a deliciously drinkable dry stout, just a hair more rich than Guinness. tarheels86 (813), Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 17, 2009 On tap. Pours like Guinness draught: Completely brown with that weird cascading settling into a rich, creamy nitro head with a deep ruby body. Metallic aroma of copper, roasted malt, and I guess that’s about it. Flavor adds a bit of chocolate malt balls, still a bit roasty, but is again metallic with some bitter hops showing through in the finish. Watery body overall. Light to medium on the palate. Easy to drink. Easy to do car bombs with. zakkbironia (87), Athens, Greece
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2009 Great beer from our irish brothers! It’s worth to get drunk with that beer while watching a local derby! Get drunk brothas!!! Oi! unclemike (833), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 16, 2009 Black-brown pour with a dense, frothy, off-white head. Slight roast aroma with a touch of banana. Mild roast flavor with a bit of cocoa. Everything about this beer just seems to be dulled by the nitrogen. Creamy medium body with a slightly aqueous finish.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | May 15, 2009 Very dark brown, thick and smooth head. Roasted, malty aroma. Dry, chocolaty taste with some smoke, yet a smooth, rich backdrop that goes down easily. A great beer to just enjoy on any casual day. Great texture, but less flavor. smcolw (373), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2009 Classic cascading tan head; deep mahogany brown that is slightly darker than Beamish. Excellent lace
Sweet milk chocolate aroma, some black patent notes, light cream also there; the hop is expectedly light.
Strong coffee flavors--the head lightens the bitterness with a whipped butter consistency. The carbonation seems light, but not so much so as to detract. If I hold the sip for three or more seconds, I detect the hop. The aftertaste is a pleasant blend of cocoa-like malts and flowery hop.
My personal favorite from the big three in Ireland, although my memory of Murphy’s on-tap is better. NewBelgium5 (66), , Pennsylvania, USA
