Aroma: chocolate, coffee and caramel with a some rich stone fruit. Appearance: great dark body with a great tan head that left sticky lacing. Flavour: bitter dark chocolate notes with a hint of coffee definite dark plum and fortified wine notes balanced out by a great powerful hop bitterness (but not much hop flavour which seems true to porter style) stopping this from becoming sickly. Palate: rich and thick with a long lingering bitter hop, sweet malt and roasted barley.

Bottle. Toffee coloured, fading tan head. Aroma has roasted malts with dried fruit (dates?). Really quite syrupy. Port and tokay flavours, but the mouthfeel is smooth and remains pretty clean. Good, but not really my sort of thing.

Dark brown pour with an off-white small persistent head. Quite sweet aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel, along with more unconventional notes of citrus (orange), white grapes, and cinnamon. A lot lighter and fruitier than I expected! Big flavour profile of sweet roasted malt and some of those afore-mentioned fruits and spices. Alcohol is definitely present in a sweet almost cloying finish. Some spicy hop flavours present but little of the bitterness. Very rich body, quite chewy. Alcohol makes for a velvety mouthfeel. If it wasn’t for the massively sweet boozy finish this would be great.

Bottle. Pours extremely dark brownish ruby colour with a small tan head. Nose has roasted malt in abundance mixing with chocolate, raisins and black tea. Flavour has a lot in common with the aroma but with adjustments: less fruit and more mocha, and fudgey caramel & chocolate. Very nice and very easy to drink. One of the best Australian porters that I have tried.

330ml bottle. Lively in the glass. Black with a thin tan head and good carbonation. Full bodied with aromas of coffee and burnt malt, complex flavours, smoky and burnt. Feels good in the mouth, lon and lingering.

Wow. This smells and tastes predominately of rum raisin, one of my favourite flavours. Very full bodied but smooth as silk. A quality brew and the best thing so far I have drunk from Australia. Well done Murrays.

Bottle. It pours dark brown when held up to the light and a creamy tanned head lingers. The aroma is rich in dark, bitter chocolate and complimented with notes of coffee, plums and oak. The flavour is dark chocolate, coffee, plums and berries. I can’t detect any alcohol and the mouthfeel is smooth and good carbonation as well. Smooth and bitter finish. It’s a good one!

Bottle (330ml). Poured extremely dark brown (virtually black) with an averaged sized, light brown head which lasted well. A sweet chocolate aroma with roasted malts, light sprit-like notes, muscatels, dried figs and a touch of ginger fudge in the back. Flavor was of sweet/dark chocolate with bitter coffee, roasted malts, a good hop bitterness, licorice, currents, dried figs and a pleasant peppery/spirit like aftertaste. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation, a dry mouthfeel, somewhat oily texture and a good warming finish.
