| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 6, 2008 Small pour (approximately 3 oz.), on tap at Gitchee Gumee Brewfest in Superior, WI on 4-5-08. This was the fifth of 12 beers that I rated (out of about 20 total beers that I tried). It was listed as simply "Muskie Capital Saison" at the festival. This was my favorite beer of the Brewfest. Pours a clear, dark brass / medium brown, quite dark for a saison. Small amount of beige head. Very nice, Belgian-style, sweet aroma with some dusty dryness. The taste has a very sweet start with a lightly dry finish. Medium body. Crisp, smooth, and lively in the palate. I was highly impressed by this offering and will seek out Muskie Capital if I am ever in its area. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2008 Poured from a growler; rustic, cloudy orange appearance. Slightly old bananas in the aroma, with lots of pure cinnamon and clove spiciness; hints of toasted vanilla, almond, and caramel. A generous powdering of nuance settling on a delicately balanced body of calm sweetness; very pleasant. Flavor is flowery and sweet; quite delicate with light tones of pistachio, lavender, white pepper, banana, and ginger. Very creamy, soft, and well arranged in the mouth; balanced and interesting. Finishes with a soft milky sweetness. A fantastic domestic saison. Thanks for sharing, Bob! Skyview (4090), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Pours a clear copper amber amber with a thick, creamy and lumpy off-white head that has some excellent retention and thick lacing. Aroma of clean crystal grain malt, some grassy hops, a touch of banana esters and cloves. Taste is light to medium bodied, some carbonation with flavors of light multi-grain malt, banana esters, a touch of white pepper and herbal spices. Finish is semi-dry, a mild bitterness with some aftertaste of light banana, cloves and cereal grain malt. There was no sediment in this saison but still quite drinkable. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA
