Draught at Volo. Pours a clear golden-orange with a small diminishing foamy white head. Mild, slight resiny hop aroma along with caramel malt and grain. Flavour: What th’!? Soap? Another sip and ugh, still soap, along with slightly burnt malt, light hops and grain. Average bodied. Not liking this at all, will have to retry.

Rerate: Draught at Rhino. Pours a clear orange-amber with an average size frothy off-white head. Aroma is pretty spicy, slightly mild, with light hops and caramel malt. Flavour of spicy hops and caramel malt Average bodied. Average bitter finish. A decent beer.

Dec 23, 2009 Has Muskoka’s typical rounded creamy feel, fruity with toasty biscuit malt, nice noble hop, solid palate, clear dark thick look, grape like sweetness under it.

Nov 28, 2009 On tap at Volo. Pours a clear orange amber with a medium beige head. Toast, malt, caramel, a bit of almost cheesy hops, and something sweet that I can’t quite put my finger on. Medium bodied, light sweetness and a bit of hops. Long lingering grapefruit bitterness.

Nov 15, 2009 [2569-20091031] Cask. Mild orange juice aroma. Slightly hazy, dark orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Fresh orange juice and sweet hops flavour. Medium body is smooth. Nice, fruity and drinkable, good beery balance.

I tried this beer on tap on November 13, 2009 at "The Beerbistro" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent copper colour with a 1" foamy tan coloured head. The aroma was very weak and contained some hops and grassy malt. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was slightly sweet, grainy malt, with a bitter finish.

Nov 4, 2009 Volo Cask Days 2009. A good bitterness from cascade hops, this is more of an American pale, with bold taste, a good bitterness, though not very balanced. Reddish with a soapy head. Easy drinking, average mouthfeel. Fresh hop taste to it. Neutral aroma.

Appearance: light haze on amber , medium creamy head , decent look. 3+
Nose: sweet caramel feel with organic hop freshness , proper nose.
Flavor/Palate : Mid bodied , light carbonation. Caramel malty body , fresh citric –green hop as follow up. Good drinkable bitter ale.

Nov 2, 2009 Volo Cask Days 2009. Hops are subtle, and light, there are there, but the beer is also dominated by some big grassy notes. Flavor is solid, but pretty basic, but tasty.
