75cl bottle, 2007 limited edition. Poured a dark amber brown that was very opaque with a thin cream colored head. Aroma was sweet with winter spices. A thick flavor of brown sugar, ripe dark fruits, rich roasted malts, nuts and winter spices. Very well balanced and smooth. Not one ingrediant overpowering another and the alcohol is nicely subdued but you still get a nice warmin gfeeling. A wonderful winter treat.

Draft at RisRas, Aarhus. Small white creamy head, brown hazy body. Nice aromas of ficus, date, brown sugar. Creamy texture and full alcoholic body. Very good balanced flavor. Overall a very good beer, and even better on draft.

2007 bottle.

reddish amber hued chocolatey brown pour with lots of junk swimming around in it. it*s crowned by a creamy frothy tan head. lots of candi sugar and orange jump out of the aroma. that*s followed by a touch of spiciness, dark fruit, grass, earth and dirty thyme notes. loads of dark sugar richness on the palate but it is not overly sweet. a pleasant bitterness throughout keeps it very enjoyable... flavors of candied orange peel, nutty chocolate, rich malt and medjoul dates come forward before a spicy warm alcoholic finish. the thyme is much more noticeable mid palate and in the aftertaste than in the aroma. it*s certainly full bodied and very rich yet it still maintains drinkability.

there*s a fundamental comfort with the thyme...? 8/4/8/4/15/3.9

750ml Bottle: Aroma of dark ripe fruits, alcohol, raisins, slight curacao, slight hops, and light yeast. Poured brown in color with a large, fizzy tan head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is light to medium sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of raisins, dark ripe fruits, light chocolate, malts, slight curacao, light brown sugar, slight bubblegum, and yeast. Medium to full body. Slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Lightly sweet, malty, dark ripe fruit finish.

75 cl bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a nice foamy head leaving lacing on the glass. Aroma is spicey, yeasty, a bit of sugar, toffee and dried fruits. Flavour is sweet malt with notes of toffee and that typical belgian yeast. Spices, some warming alcohol. Medium to fullbodied, high carbonation. It is quite drinkable even though the alcohol is noticable. It probably needs a year to reach its full capacity.

75cl bottle from Sheps Deli, Tampa, FL. Pours a dark caramel brown with a one finger tan foamy head that settles quickly but laces the glass. Aroma is rich and malty with notes of ripe dark fruit, dark candy sugar, caramel, toffee, raisins, slight hint of dark chocolate. Flavor is a burst of flavors from caramel and toffee to sweet malt, spice, and molasses. A complex beer. Some notes of phenol, dark ripe fruit, sugar plums and candy sugar are present as well. Generally medium to full body with a sweet and malty finish.
