JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Nov 25, 2006 2006. I have yet to be disappointed by a Dachouffe beer. This is sweet and malty. There is lightly fruit and a solid base of sweet malt with the hops no where to be found. It might best be described as a classic Belgian strong; it doesn’t try to push any boundaries or make you think too hard. Dark brown and medium carbonation. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Nov 25, 2006 On tap at Gollem (Pijp), A’dam. Solid, prickly mouthful. Warm and bitter. Alcohol a bit overpowering. 3 euros. beermouth (434), Langeskov, Denmark Nov 25, 2006 (2005)Deep, intens amber with reddish notes and a nice rocky offwhite head. Fruit, dried fruit, yeast, herbal, caramel and spice. Nice balance and body. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Nov 24, 2006 This beer was nice, it just lacked body, the alcohol was up there, but just felt watery on the palate which really took away the character of the beer. Light brown/copper in color, very clear, with a thin white head. Honey and caramel in the nose and a lightly spicy finish. Just to thin for my tastes. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 20, 2006 Redish brown with a small white head. Metallic with sweet fruit tones. Medium body with a short, sweet aftertaste. Marsiblursi (1631), Göteborg, Sweden Nov 18, 2006 Updated: Nov 19, 2006Pours brown/red. Metallic aroma with almond paste. Sweet and malty. Fruity hints. Sweet, stale, metallic, flavour. Spicy carbonated ending. Sugary and yeasty. A lot of marzipan. Small to medium, sickening body. BeerBiker (1384), Odense, Denmark Nov 8, 2006 [CMO-tasting]
Very smooth compared to the high percentage. Amounts of spice, brown ale notes, fruits and a wish for more of this bottle. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Oct 30, 2006 BA BBF 06. Dark brown in color. Aroma is malty, spices, yeast, and some fruit. Taste is the same with a hoppy bitter finish.
