SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA May 30, 2009 750ml bottle: Rusty brown pour with a pillowy head that settles into a long lasting ring. Moderate lacing. Very nice plum and caramel aroma. The body is thick, chewy but very drinkable. Lots of buttery sugar, light cocoa, dark fruits, candied fruits. Yum. HopheadHans (753), Bay Area, California, USA May 20, 2009 Tap at City beer. Pours with a dark brown color and a smallish head. Beer needs to warm up bwefore it really shines. Nice aromas of dark fruit and bread, flavors of toffee, strawberries and cramel togther with some dough. A bit of alcohol hotness but fairly easily drinkable considering the ABV. jredmond (1015), New Jersey, USA May 7, 2009 On tap at Rattle N Hum in NYC. Pours a dark, hazy brown with small off white head. Taste is sharp alcohol and sugar. Aroma is very light with some notes of roast? After taste of tequila or some other strange hard alcohol. Chrism86 (273), Melbourne, Australia May 1, 2009 Pours dark red/brown with a small cream coloured head. Nose has masses of dark sweet fruit with quite a bit of spice also. Palate translated well, some raisin-like sweetness before the peppery, almost herbal phenols come into play. Finishes prickly on the tongue due to the spice and elevated abv. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Apr 30, 2009 2008 tap at the Blind Tiger. Candi sugar sweet aroma, notes of banana, hay and vaseline are apparent. Prickly, icy mouthfeel, with good sugars and mild herbals. Some rum & shandy notes are present. Nice yeast and body in this, but not too complex. Surprisingly drinkable at 10%. judasbeer (229), Budapest, Hungary Apr 25, 2009 Almost the same appearance as the Mc Chouffe. A little bit deeper in the red saturation and the head is less stable. The aroma is quite peppery at first, and then comes fruity and herbal. Balanced, medium sweet roasted malts along with tons of herbals and spices like thyme and curacao. In the finish the mouthfeel gets more peppery and herbal. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation and "NIce" warming alcoholic edge. It’s nIce for any occasion, especially for cold winter nights. pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Apr 20, 2009 750ml green bottle Best befroe date - 08/07/2011.
