Hairofthedog (419), San Diego, California, USA Jan 7, 2005 Fruit and hints of soury dark fermented fruit and malty sweet on the nose... Malty sweet and dark fruit in the mouth... this beer poured a cloudy brown w/ gold highlights, no head and no lacing. Creamy and smooth, light bodied. DrunkAsASkunk (847), Lynnwood, Washington, USA Jan 6, 2005 Thanks to eyedrinkale for this ridiculously old 1996 version at the welcome visitors gathering at obriens. The pour was dark brown murky red color with relatively no head and no lacing to speak of. The aroma was completety and utterly funky...barnyard, leather, lemon, tartness and sourness.. complete funkiness! Then what in the holy hell happened when I tasted it...naturally not ONE single thing I found in the aroma was present in the flavor...in fact this could be one of the worst 180’s ive ever seen between the nose and the flavor. This tasted JUST like iced tea...wtf??? Sweet maltiness, some peach and yeast with a ginger shot...but just like iced tea...i swear it was the strangest thing ever! Slightly sour finish..medium bodied. JohnC (2230), Mission Viejo, California, USA Jan 6, 2005 Thanks to whomever brought this to the O’Briens gathering last nite.

Good balance of sweet fruits, malt, vanilla and understated hops. Fairly clean and warming finish. A really nice winter ale which helped ring in the new year. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA Dec 31, 2004 2003 vintage
The Elf strikes again. This little elf brought many presents froma nother continent. He brought some raisins and some caramel. The elf should have borught the antacids, as the acidity will tear a hole in my gut. Very warm. Nice spice kick, which is likely the thyme sitting on top of this loaf of bread. A N’Ice New Year’s Eve beer.
