Commercial Description:
A dark brown English ale, in which classic English malts meet the spicy hoppiness of the new world. Recommended serving temperature 8°C/45°F. Goes very well with ‘pub grub.’

The pour reveals a clear brown body with a creamy light tan head that dissipates slowly, leaving a complete cover upon the glass. Nose has a black walnut like sweetness, hints of caramel and hops, malt earthiness also noted, quite clean and refreshing. Start has a perfect malt presence, sweet with a modicum of bittering hops at the back, medium in feel. Finish has a masterful acidity, the hops pleasantly spicy, sweet and tart, dry aftertaste, a really nice representative to the style.

0.5 L bottle from Sello-Market. Pale brown head although fast dissappearing. Some coffee in the nose. Dark brownish colur. Strong taste of coffee and malts. Also hoppy taste. Some hints of licorice and chocolate available.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color with a nice tan head. The aroma was sweet coffee and caramel malts. The flavor was the same but with a light hoppy finish. Overall, an excellent Brown Ale...one of my favorites so far.

Solid brown pour, cream colored head. Surprisingly floral aroma, some roast malt and nuttiness. Nice malt with caramel, a very slight molasses and more hop character than usual for a brown. A very clean and well balanced brown. Nogne does a good job with this. Outside the box for a brown.

Bottle. Appearance = A medium sized semi-fizzy tan head that mostly diminished, ample amount of lacing, transparent, visible carbonation, and a reddish brown hue. Aroma = Malty, caramel, hoppy, some spicyness, and chocolate. Flavor = Sweet, malty, chocolate, caramel, slightly roasty, and mildly hoppy. Mouthfeel = Mildly tingly. Body = Medium. Very quaffable, easy to drink, fairly balanced, and I would drink this one again. I am miffed at the low ratings.

Surprisingly strong brown ale for a 4.5 abv. This is my first offering from Nogne, and I’m very impressed. Usually not a fan of brown ales, I am impressed by this one due to its unique hopped aftertaste but minus any citrus that would be unwelcome in such a beer. Well done.
