apoptosis (1316), Long Island, New York, USA Jan 11, 2008 Looks like a hearty porter - black/brown body with a light tan small frothy head. Clean chocolately aroma, sweetened with chocolate malts and lactose. Lightly roasty. The flavor isn’t as robust as I’d like it to be, and is actually a little bit lacking. Vanilla and roasted nut flavors are quite prominent.
Pinball (595), Allerød, Denmark Oct 6, 2008 bottle, found as klin kokos in ølbutikken,
pours dark brown, almost black, nice brown thick head.
aroma:cocoa, coffe, faint spices.
flavor :licorice, english licorice, aftertaste lingers for a long time and is dominated by bitter coffe, and roasted malts.
palate : mouthfeel a bit watery, but also a bit slippery/oily. all in all okay, but not quite there. Fin (2357), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Oct 6, 2008 Bottle as Klin Kokos, picked up at Olbutikken, Kobenhaven, Denmark This poured almost black in colour with a light brown head. The nose is of a hoppy bounty bar with added malibu. The alcohol carries a little and there is some spiciness but hops whilst apparent on the nose fail to shine much in the mouth. This is the first average beer that I’ve had from Nogne, Loz wasn’t impressed either. plovmand (676), Helsinge, Denmark Aug 27, 2008 Bottle as Klin Kokos. The beer is dark brown with a small but long lasting beige head. Roasted malts together with the coconut and coffee in the aroma. Flavour is like 2/3 well roasted porter and 1/3 pina colada which works out fine but will never be my favorite. Joakgust (90), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 11, 2008 Bottle, Klin Kokos 50 cl - Dark brown color with some greyness to it, with a large beige head. Coconut aroma dominates this beer, with hints of pineapple, malibu, vanilla and coffee. Flavor is also dominated by coconuts, with notes of smoke coffee and some chocolate. Very interesting beer! being a big fan of coconuts I regret not buying another bottle! baggio (59), stockholm, Sweden Jul 9, 2008 Shared with my father on a rainy summers eve.
Appearance: Dark with a generous beige head that looks very creamy!
Aroma: Smoke, Sour fruit, Acetone, Vanilla, Chocolate.
Flavor: Coco, Coffee, Chocolate, Dishwater, with a hint of vanilla.
Palate: Very thin and dry a low carbonation and a bitterness at the end.
This is by far the worst beer i’ve ever tried from Nøgne. Stay away from it as it’s not worth the money.
