Belgo (137), Køge, Denmark Jan 25, 2008 Draught at NB. Very dark brown with a reddish note at the rim. Dense white-brown head. Aromas of liquorice, dark chocolate and hops. The flavour is roasted with a bit of coffee and some acidity from the roasted malts. Hoppy aftertaste mixes with notes from the dark malts. A fine schwarzbier.
NOPALE NOALE, WINNER OF DM I HAANDBRYG 2007, ORIGINAL BREW, SAMPLED SUMMER 07:
Dark brown colour, aromas of dark roasted coffee with sweet caramel notes too. Mild hoppy flavours in the background. Smooth on the palate with just a hint of acidity from the roasted malts and roasted barley. Light bodied and extremely drinkable. A masterpiece and probably the best schwarzbier I’ve ever had. (8/4/8/4/15) yespr (6259), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 24, 2008 From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a reddish hue and a dense tan head. Smooth chocolate and solid caramel malt aroma, light coffee note. Flavour starts sweet and nicely coffee roasted. Chocolate smooths out the coffee flavours before the finish. Nice smooth coffee and chocolate sweet lingering finish. Lasting chocolate note in the far finish. Nice. Jukkabro (2350), Tampere, Finland Mar 3, 2008 Deep dark amber colored, little lasting light brown head. Rich coffee dominates this sweet aroma with chocolate and some yeast. Medium bodied. Flavor is more hopped with still this sweet chocolate and caramel. Aftertaste turns to yeasty-flowery with some Danish vegetably note, chocolate still present.
