Cask handpull, The Village Inn, Nailsworth (brewery tap): 4.4% according to the chalk board, 4.5% according to the website. Deep ruby and lacing beige. Sulphurous/musky hop aroma melding into coffee, coal, blackcurrant and cinder toffee. Oily and full with just the right tingle of fizz. Earthy espresso, mineral saltiness, egg, roast. Burton Snatch meets dab of Mikkeller burnt toastiness and US hop. Balanced and moreish, in the pits of a hangover. Full and fruity. Very good.
