Cask handpull, The Village Inn, Nailsworth, 30/10/09. Deep bronze with an off white halo. Toffee, earth, Crunchie and coffee hints in the aroma, mingled with nettley hop and cat’s piss. Complex. Creamy and dense with soily malt, leaves, coffee dregs, cinder toffee. House slate and sulphur again, buttery dabs of the fresh and pleasant kind. Slips down like a mild, but it’s a bitter. I think.
