Dec 8, 2009 I think that this beer is more of a cross between an IPA and a porter. It is clearly a dark beer, almost black, with a thin tan head. But the aroma would have fooled me into thinking this was an IPA. Nice fruity grapefruit aroma and mild piney hops. There is another layer of caramelized malts and coffee. Then the flavor is mildly sweet and malty with more hop bitterness than you would expect from a porter. Light and airy on the palate. Overall, a strange collision of styles, but altogether a pleasant experience.

Dec 5, 2009 Courtesy of beerguy101: Caramilized berry nose, crisp lager yeast notes, nuts, other fruits and booze. Clear mohagany..full light tan sheet. Caramelly flavors, medium-full body, nutty...nothing esquisite, but still perfectly to style.

Dec 1, 2009 Bottle. Pours with a deep brown body and a fading tan head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee, light esters, pear and caramel. Taste is ash, chocolate, a light sour note and nuts. Creamy mouthfeel and light carbonation.
