On draught at Bishops Arms, Järntorget. Clear , redish brown colour with steady head. Dense, compact aroma from canned strawberries, American hops and that house character also known as dark plum. Flavour is compact with sweet malts, yet not heavy in a bad sense, American hops, darker fruits such as plums and a bit of rubber ballooon. After is a bit of saltiness that’s lighly reminiscent of salmiac or licorice. That’s subtle, yet clear. All in all a thick, malty, balanced, well hopped in flavour with no sourness and moderate in bitterness. Well crafted again from Närke!

On tap at European Beer Festival, Copenhagen. A nice, clear copper body is topped by a dense beige head. Hops dominates the aroma, with pinecones, resin and fluorine. Malty sweetness and caramel too. Caramel-sweet start on the flavor with a quite intense hoppyness soon running the show. Some alcohol too. Full-bodied, sweet and quite warming. The finish is lasting for a good while, with pine and bitterness. The beer isn’t overly balanced, but still very good. (080913)
