Tap. Nice medium sized brown head. Black body. Aroma og green apples, banana, some mild fruitiness and some coffee. Very fresh and elegant. Flavour of different tasteful chocolates, banana and coffee. Sweet finish with clear hints of chocolate and coffee. A very elegant and tasteful beer. (Glenfiddich Warehouse Stockholm, 24.07.07)

Almost black, with a little brown nuance, in color. A nice looking brown creamy head. Scent is very sweet mixed with some roasted tones. Sweet, fruity and roasted taste. Mellow roasted after taste. Thick and creamy mouth feel. If you have a few minutes to spare, this is a nice way of doing it, sit down, relax and have some sips of this excellent brew.

Very dark brown to black color, small light brown head. Smooth, sweet, chocolate and dried fruits scent, also vanilla and oak. Sweet, malty, caramel taste, lingers into roasted malt, cocoa and dry coffee, so nice! Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 15 June 2007) Black colour with brief, pale brown head. Roasted nose with hints of smoke and tar, notes of liquorice, vanilla, blueberries, crowberries and juniper berries. Roasted, slightly tarry, taste with liquorice, crowberries and coffee with sugar. Drier, slightly smoky finish with a balanced hoppy bitterness. Medium to full body, oily texture. An old style porter with sweetish notes of wild berries. Definitely my kind of beer. And yet another impressive effort from Närke. 8/4/8/4/16=4.0 (Rerate: draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 25 Jan 2008) Tasting notes mainly the same, but now even better!

Tight brown head, wonderful black color. Sweetly malty, chocolaty aroma. Silky smooth, slightly smoky as the beer gets warmer. Full, soft, coffee flavor. Very big. Dryish mouthfeel. Hoppy sidetouch. In one word: brilliant.

Black color with impressive big creamy head. Very nice aroma, roasted malt, vanilla, hop, a bit cheesy. Smooth texture, well malty, some sweetness, very well mixed, with roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, yeast. The final is well balanced, with a mix of all.
