| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 9, 2007 2005 version. Opaque black with a small brown head. Very malty aroma with hints of liquorice and raisins. The flavor is very close to the aroma but is very deep and chocolates come out more here. Also a deep malty flavor is present, no alcohol taste. A deep malty finish with hints of the hops used. I have to say the 2005 version is better than the 2006, although I think the 2006 has potential to develop with time. Svesse (2683), Hässelby, Sweden

Roasted nose with full aromas of chocolate, liquorice and soy sauce, hints of warm asphalt. Roasted taste with loads of chocolate, cocoa, soy sauce and a very long finish with liquorice and lots of coffee bitterness. Full body with oily texture and fiery, warming notes. Stunning, powerfull and brilliant. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Courtesy of Degarth. Wow, I bring over 4 beers to share, and THIS is the beer he pulls out from his fridge for us to open? Unbelievable generosity.
Strangest little bottle I have ever seen. Can’t be more than 6 ounces soaking wet. A shame there isn’t more to go around. Very still black body, creamy tan head. Lacing dots the side of the glass as the head fades away. A nice mocha colored ring hangs around for the duration. On the nose we have chocolate, plums, figs, molasses and licorice. A big roasted blast greets you at the beginning of the sip, then blends into a nice milk chocolate and cream combination. The back of the swallow is roasty as well, picking up some coffee grounds. Very creamy mouthfeel, full bodied and filling. Alcohol is well hidden. Finish is very roasty, with some bitterness and sticks around for a very long time. Very good, but I can’t help but think it’s a tad overrated. mugabe (219), Sweden

Thick chocolate flavour with a touch of heathers. Nice, creamy palate. Great, but somewhat one-dimensional. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

black, fine tan head, touch of lace, rich dark chocolate aroma with lots of roasted and sweet ripe fruits plus a hint of alcohol, rich dry dark chocolate flavor, only a hint of the fruit in the aroma, light bitterness, the flavor does not live up to the promise of the aroma

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Aug 30, 2007 Bottle, RBESG Grand Tasting 07. Done head to head with Kaggen. Dark brown, thin tan head. Vanilla malty compex tones, milk chocolate dominate. Roasted. Mouth is slightly sour winter fruit, chocolate, roasted tones, slightly burnt. Quite fruity at the end. where I’d normally expect the heather from the Kaggen. Slightly sweet, little bit oily. Needs some herbs, but wow, stunningly good beer.
