250mL bottle, 2005 vintage. Pours very deep brown, capped with a thin brown head. Aroma of sweet burnt malt, raisin, licorice, coffee, cocoa, and dark fruit. Flavor is similar to aroma, with espresso, cocoa, dark fruit, licorice and raisin. Low carbonation; silky smooth mouthfeel. Really nice beer. Thanks to lagomswedish for the trade.

I already had this one and the fantastic Kaggen at the beer festival this year in Stockholm Sweden. Nice to have one again in a more sober environment.. hehe. Had it from bottle. 2007 vintage. We bought it at Bishops Arms at the Central station in Stockholm. 250 SEK for one bottle. Virtually no head. Pretty thick density with a black solid and full body. Roasted and very nutty aroma. Leather mixed with grape, raisins, plum and lots of prune. A nice honey texture enriches this feast of beer and you can sense vanilla and a healthy dose of alcohol. Dry, oily and little syrupy. Flat carbonation. light sweet, moderate bitter and a bit salty. I had a nice burnt oak and ash taste long after I finished the bottle. This is a world class beer, really good. Have some high quality chocolate truffles with this one. Cheers.

Sample at EBF08. Black colour with brown small head. Wonderful aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffe and liquorice. Thick, but not too oily. Flavor is much like the aroma with vanilla and a little bitter´ness. WOnderfully balanced. Very good indeed.

(Bottle, 2007 vintage, at Pikkulintu on 2008-11-07) Black. Small tan coloured head. Vanilla, roasted malts and hint of coffee in nose. Full bodied and dry palate with little carbonation. Vanilla, coffee, roastedness, bitterness and liquorice in taste. Long lasting bitter and roasty aftertaste.

250ml Bottle (Svenska Dagar 2008 @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki) - Black in colour with a tan head. Chocolatey aroma with liquorice also featuring. Rich tasting with coffee, plain chocolate and roasted malt. One to sip and savour.
