....And the cap just hit the ceiling. Holy shit this is explosive. Maybe it’s just overprimed.....
No, (as I smell it) that is definitely not the culprit....
Maybe some odd strand of brett or lacto, it really dosent smell horrible?
(Upon sipping) No, no, that definitely isnt some strain of brett or lacto....
Well that’s too bad, whatever is in there is pretty disgusting. Some type of unpleasant wild yeast. Horribly phenolic, plastic and chemical flavors. Lots of clove and ever so slight roasty/toasty malts, but it’s got a slight sour edge, with only a hint of bubble gum and cotton candy sweetness. Otherwise, it’s incredibly attenuated from whatever has infected it. I’ll buy another bottle next time I’m at Julios and see what comes of it.

12oz bottle-pours a rich tan head and cloudy brown/copper color. Aroma is sweet medium malt-molasses, spices/wood, some sharpness. Taste is sweet medium malt-molasses, spices/wood-hops, dark fruit. The sharpness is a big detractor to taste and drink ability.

Thanks to Hophead75 for this. Pours a medium woody amber with a thin lasting head. Aroma isnt too bad- not as bad as expected anyway, spicy phenolic yeast with some ok fruity esters- raisins etc. nice sweetness. Flavor though islacking and is weak with caramel, toffee, belgian yeast, peppery phenols. Solvent-like and astringent in the finish and otherwise just weak and not good. Pretty much what I expected from Nashoba.

This beer is clearly filtered, wit a ruby-red, mahogany body with no head whatsoever. Mild, malty aroma that doesn’t have any complexity or spiciness - just sugar and maybe some plums, with a slight hint of bitterness. There is sweetness in the flavor, again, with no complexity. The body is somewhat thin. Banana esters, then, watery, yet bitter finish with a hint of roastiness.

12 ouncer from Julios - clear amber with a small ring of large, soapy bubbles - slightly tart aroma, with hints of clove, cherry, caramel, and background spices - bitter, spicy, and a little sour all at the same time (it’s kind of a slap in the face, really) - spices linger a little longer than the other qualities, mixing with an alcohol warmth, and dark fruit sweetness, giving the beer a rum-like flavor for a bit - some brown sugar and grainy malts finish the beer off - thins out near the end, letting the alcohol burn the tongue and throat for a while - it lacks focus/balance, but I’d give it another shot.

12 oz bottle purchased at the brewery. Deep lightly hazy brown with red highlights. very small off white head. Aroma is alot of caramel, raisins, and sugar. Taste is sweet and lightly spicy, alot of caramel and some fruit notes-rum soaked raisins. This beer finishes sweet with some alcohol warm in the finish. The carbonation was almost non existent which takes off a few points in taste and palate. but overall it is decent.
