Very smooth and hops and malt in a nice balance. Slightly more hops than a typical british porter but not too much more...

Tasted 4/18/09. Schlafly’s Repeal of Prohibition Festival. Dark brown and filtered. Moldy beige head. Aromas are toasty and toffee with an odd rubbery note. Full bodied and toasty. Nice malts and a good roast. Mild smokey aspect, but the toffee permeates. Decent.

Sampled at Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition festival. Pours mahogany with a crimson hue and small tan head. The aroma has cream, smooth roasty malt and light char. Medium smooth creamy body with soft carbonation. Flavor starts off with milk chocolate, roasted malt, light spice and some spritziness. The finish has high char for a porter.

Coffee and faint chocolate aroma. Tastes sweet then overwhelmingly coffee and chocolate bitter. Needs a bit more sweet malt backbone.

2009 Tap. Aroma of dark malts and strong cinnamon, this beer is most distinct because of its cinnamonesque flavors. Not particularly sweet, the coffee notes in this can overwhelm the finish so that it has a bit of an unbalanced edge.
