Smooth and bready, with a touch of hop bite in the finish. Definately more of a session ale. Sampled at Asheville Brewgrass 2007. kp (8399), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Pours amber with ivory head. The aroma is caramel and slight grass with some toast. The flavor is slightly toasty with some lemongrass twang. Very distant caramel sweetness lurks behind it. The flavor remains level, and doesn’t change into the finish. jcwattsrugger (5333), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2007 on tap-pours an off white head and amber color. Aroma is mild light/medium malt. Taste is medium malt-sweet, faint/secondary hops bite. bubbleflubber (893), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 4, 2007 Transparent amber pour with a light offwhite ring that laces the glass down. Sweet malty nose. Boisterous caramel and toffee notes, mixed with some weird light tortilla corn. This turns paler and more biscuit-like toward the finish. Adding decent bitters to the finish helps it from becoming slightly cloying. The body is medium, although could be cleansing, depending on the beginning or end of the pull. The odd pairings going on here makes for a "just ok" brew. bboven (103), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2006 This aroma of this deep amber ale is rich with chewy malts, caramel with some toffee, and just a suggestion of sweet apples. Creamy mouthfeel. The taste delivers the maltiness that the aroma promises and has just enough bitter hopping to keep the sweetness under control. Nice.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 16, 2006 From notes 8/7/04:
Pours a deep amber color with a fluffy off-white head. Each sip is demarcated by a ring of foam. Very nice. Aromas were wet with malty goodness. Caramel malts abound. Flavors have plenty of the aforementioned caramel, with the added bonus of biscuit and a splash of hops. Just enough hops to give some sort of order. Lingering malt finish, with some more hoppiness to try to balance it out. I enjoyed this.
