This aroma of this deep amber ale is rich with chewy malts, caramel with some toffee, and just a suggestion of sweet apples. Creamy mouthfeel. The taste delivers the maltiness that the aroma promises and has just enough bitter hopping to keep the sweetness under control. Nice.

Poured a clear amber color with a creamy off-white head. Caramel and mild nutty malt aroma. Lightly sweet. The flavor was malty sweet with a citrusy hop finish. Medium body. It’s a decent amber.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear amber color without much head. Subtle piney hop nose with a hint of molasses. Caramel and grassy hop flavor. Not a whole lot of character, but decent.

Amber, with a white head. Creamy, malty toasty aroma. Smooth and bready, with a touch of hop bite in the finish. Definately more of a session ale. Sampled at Asheville Brewgrass 2007.

Bottle on 09/01/2008. Clear amber body with a large frothy tan head that quickly diminishes. Caramel and earthy malt aroma with some earthy and floral hop hints. Sweet caramel and earthy malt flavors, some cherrios and some earthy and floral hops and a very mild bitter finish that rapidly dissipates. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber body with a medium-sized, white head. Smell: Very vague malt aroma with a hint of hops. Taste: Mild malt presence, at best. Subtle sweetness. No more than a hint of bitterness. Then it’s gone! Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Pretty basic; there’s just not much character to this thing at all.
