| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Draught at the brewpub. Pours copper gold with ivory head. The aroma is pine and grapefruit with a noticeable spicy rye character. The flavor is pine and grapefruit hops with a reasonable amount of bitterness. Rybe bread comes out in the finish, and hop bitterness lingers in the aftertaste. I enjoyed this one very much. freekyp (901), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Pours a cloudy brown with a smallish off-white head that nonetheless put forth some very nice lacing. The Rye in this beer is quite apparent in both the aroma and flavor. The aroma was very doughy, like an uncooked biscuit, with a little bit of toffee and rye in the background. Lightly sweet, lightly tart, and tempered with a big bitter finish, this beer is an interesting complex treat. 19641948 (491), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 6, 2007 Pours a clear burnt auburn with a fluffy head of tan merengue. Pockmocked as it reduces. Laces moderately. Aromas are mild and not the spicy wallop I expected from a rye brew. Flavors are qutie balanced with caramel maltiness easily observed with (and sometimes over) the hop nature. Rye is noted, but flitters back and forth from forefront to background. Clean drinking. Less than meaty mouthfeel. A beer I’ve ordered on multiple occasions, but it’s not the Hop Rod-esque pummeling I had hoped for. Regardless, I applaud them for taking on a beer of this style. bubbleflubber (897), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2007 Pours a walnut hue, with a minimal sudsy head and decent lace. Nose is of sourdough and rye bread. This is like rye bread in a glass. Well-integrated pale malts with good hopping (Noble?) make for a lingering bitter rye finish that’s got some staying power. This cleanses the palate well, remaining zesty while enjoying a medium-round embodiment. Very nice offering! decaturstevo (1997), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2009 Slightly hazed orange/brown pour. Light malt with a hint of citrus on the nose. Caramel malt followed by a very nice bitter. Just a tad aggressive carbonation kept me from rating this very good drinker alot higher. I liked this beer. 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 26, 2007 A solid beer from Nattys. Pours out a deep coppery color with a medium off white head. Aroma is slightly sweet and grainy with hints of hops. Flavor was rather nice. I was nice and hoppy. A little more hoppy than i expected which one popints with me.
