12 oz bottle courtesy of Butters and Maniac 09/04/2008. Nice nutty roast malt aroma with notes of coffee. Clear dark brown with ruby highlights. Small fine tan head. Rich slightly bitter roast malt flavor with moderate hop bitterness. Light body with light mouthfeel. 4.2% ABV is a bonus for this very smooth drinkable beer.

On draft at Mellow Mushroom. Pours a brown mahogany with garnet highlights and a fair ring of tan head. Sweet raisins and caramel malt aroma. Some nuttiness shows up in the flavor. A bit cloying in the finish but overall, pretty good.

12 oz, bb Jul 08. Uncloudy mahogany with a large and enduring creamy head that leaves nice lacing. Molasses, cocoa, caramel and occasional sour-metallic notes in the aroma. Flavor is molasses, cocoa and dark-toasted walnut with a slight lactic acid twang and light metallic hops. Medium body is lightly carbonated, smoothish and sufficiently dry on the finish to make a great session ale.

Bottle. Clear with a redish brown color and a big soapy head. Faint nose of sugary malt. Mouthfeel is too soda-like. Flavor’s are simple coffee and nutitness with a sharp, clean finish. Tastes very much like a homebrew with minimal complexity. Quite drinkable.

12oz bottle thanks to jrob_21. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head which dissipated quickly. Smell is of malt and roastiness. Taste was of malt and vinegar. A bit cola-like. Mouthfeel was medium-to-thin with a bit of dryness.
