Aroma of bready malt with some citrus hops thrown in for good measure. Flavor is a bit malty as well, maybe the hops have dropped out? Nice and clean finish. Not too bad for a spring evening. golubj (1300), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 27, 2008 Bottle, courtesy of alexanderj. Amber, light orange pour with thin white film on top. Aroma is sweet bready malt, kind of like a czech beer. The flavor is the same, very light / clean palate that would be nice on a warm day, and there is a small amount of bittering / grassy hops in the finish. NachlamSie (1654), Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours a copper color with a very small white head. Mostly malts in the nose on this one. It’s slightly musty, very doughy, and virtually no hops to be found simply by sniffing. Hops are apparent in the flavor, thankfully. This is a rather clean drinking brew. I think it’s interesting that it is a slight departure from a textbook APA, but still identifiable as being such. I would attribute that to the hop choice. Less grapefruit and citrus is found on Natty Greene’s pale, and more pine and grassy flavor is present, though it certainly is not overwhelming. Overall, this is a smooth, very clean pale ale. cbkschubert (2027), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2008 12 oz. bottle (Southern PA) via trade with ucusty - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a one finger thick off white head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is herbal hops and a touch of veggie stew. Doesn’t smell like an APA. Flavor is toasted caramel malt with some hops mixed in for balance. Medium body. No unpleasant lingering aftertaste. Worth a try. I love trying new locals. Thanks david. Hank1980 (776), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 12, 2008 Pours clear dark gold with disappearing white head. Aroma of hops and grain. Taste is not as hoppy as many pales. Mouth is carbonated and crisp. Not a great pale ale. alexanderj (2284), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 10, 2008 12 oz bottle; poured a clear orange, amber. Aroma of toasted malt and biscuit, with some light citrus and wheat. Taste was dominated by biscuit and bread; however there was a solid citrus/grass hop presence. Palate had hints of wateriness. Overall it was about average for the style. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA
