ESBman (50), Andover, Bedfordshire, England Jan 24, 2006 Tasted by half pint at the Wenlock Arms, London, 25/01/06.
Pours a lightly hazy dark orangey hue, with a thick and foamy head; very low carbonated body.
Nose: flowery hops and juicy citrus fruits, overall hop-dominated and aromatic, but quite simplistic.
Palate: quite intensive flavour of pink-grapefruits--juicy and hoppy, with grapefruit bits, lightly white-wine vinous taste, lychee-fruit skin, buttressed by a bitter-sweet twist of citrus zest and a nice lingering floral bitter aftertaste. Overall a bit like a good dash of elderflower cordial mixed into "Pheonix Navvy" beer~~ Light-medium bodied and medium-flavoured, with a constantly dryish overtone and creamy-fizzy texture. A more-ish thirst-quencher~~
