Commercial Description:
Our IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name "Humboldt IPA Nectar" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Amber color pour with a medium frothy head that lasts a while. Aroma and flavor are mostly floral and pine hops, with a good malt backing. Not much else to say, except that it’s a solid IPA.

12oz Bottle. Pours a slight hazy iced tea color with one finger tan head and nice lacing. Nose is sweet ripe citrus and pine. Taste is floral hops, caramel malt and a mild resin finish. Medium creamy mouth feel. Decent IPA.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy copper with off-white head. The aroma is biscuits, honey, orange zest, berries, and pine. The flavor is a honeyish sweetness with assertive piney hops. Sweet toastiness after a bitter finish. Pretty good.

This no longer says Humbolt on the bottle. Brewed in Paso Robles, Ca. now. Pours a dark amber with a modest off-white head. Good amount of lacings. Aroma is pungent pine and citrus. First taste is bitter citrus hops enveloped by a very rich malty sweetness. Does not have the crispness most IPAs have. Seems more like a Red-IPA melding. Tasty brew. Also the bottle info shows 6.7% abv. now and I did feel and taste the higher %.

Orange amber, slightly hazy, average off-white head. Aroma is fresh and fruity hops in abundance. Flavour again is hop dominated with lovely passionfruit and peach character shining through, the malts are soft and carramelly sweet. Very nice.

A great floral IPA. Lives up to its name. Very nectarish in its aroma and palate. Tastes a lot more chewy due to the hopping, yet this is extremely sessionable at 5.2%

Pours a nice clear orange with a small amount of head. Fairly good, but fairly average IPA. A touch of dankiness, but pretty mild IPA - the aftertaste is pretty good though.

Orange in colour, lasting off-white coloured head, good lacing. The aroma is floral, mildly sweet, some caramel, oranges and bread. The flavour is quite floral with some underlying citrus, caramel malt, chewy and a bit sappy. Moderately bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes long, hoppy and sweet.

This seems to dry out a lot near the end, drinks a lot bgger and very chewy for its size.

355ml bottle obtained in a trade with The_Epeeist, thanks Chris.
Opened on January 31, 2008.
No date.

Tasty beer. Worth a try. I would almost describe this as a hoppy red. It’s got a nice malt that snuggles into the beer and keeps the hops from going overboard. 12 oz bottle.
