Commercial Description:
Our IPA is created from a base of Pale and Crystal malts and is aggressively hopped throughout the brewing process with a final hop addition in the conditioning vessel. A beautiful flowery hop aroma will greet you as you dive into this hop lover’s dream. A middle caramel malt presence balances high hop bitterness with hop flavor end to end... learn to love hops! (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company under the name "Humboldt IPA Nectar" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Tap at Toronado in SF. Clear golden-amber with a white head. Sweet malt, fruit, and citrusy hops on the aroma. Same on the flavor with sweet malt, caramel, and tropical fruits, then a nice piney/citrusy hop punch. Medium palate with a nice hint of hop oils. A quality IPA overall.

On tap. Clear warm amber golden with a small off-white head. Fresh, citrusy nose. Medium body, lightly sweet caramel notes, some fruit - peach in particular from the hops, that also leave a dry, hoppy finish. 090709

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, warm, amber golden with a white head leaving a neat lacework. Fat aroma of caramel and aroma hops. Medium body, some lightly sweet caramel malt and then this great, citrusy hopping - more dry than bitter. Very compact flavours considering the low alcohol. 290307

Bottle, bottled on 05/19/09. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malt, tropical fruits, sweet citrus, and grassy hops. Flavor of sweet caramel and crackery malt initially with some citrus and bitter hops in the finish. Nice IPA, very drinkable, good hops/malt balance. 8/4/8/4/14 (3.8/5)

The best overall Ipa I have ever had. The taste is perfectly balanced with hops, spice and a sweetness that makes this Ipa like heaven to drink. I wish that nectar brewing was still up in Arcata , but this beer has stood the test of time to be one of the best tasting Ipa’s ever.

Since this beer has a 6.8% ABV listed I’m guessing it’s this one not the other Humbolt IPA...

Aroma: Tropical/citrus hops, juicy and sweet, powerful and nice
Appearance: Orange-amber in color, decent amount of lacing on the glass
Flavor: Relatively balanced, nice mix of sweetness and hops, tasty brew
Palate: Medium body, nice carbonation, nice mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This one is really tasty, huge fruity nose/flavor. Yum! Generally I don’t like this much sweetness in an IPA, but they did a great job here, a nicely done brew indeed.

**Just submitted a photo for this one, as it was missing one.

A nice Amber color with a thin white head, aroma is citrus, herbal and hoppy, quite complex one. Flavor is bitter and a little bit of malty could be felt. Mouthfell is bitter and spicy! Good stuff.
