Very crisp, very fresh floral, citrusy presentation, followed on the back end by honeyey sweetness, full body, soft and smooth finish. The balance of bitter and sweet in this is top-notch. Found to be just as delightful as Russian Rivers Pliny the Younger but easier to get. Beautiful label as with taste is even appealing to the ladies. Tap Handle kicks butt as well. ano1ridesthe19 (23), Chico, California, USA

The taste is perfectly balanced with hops, spice and a sweetness that makes this Ipa like heaven to drink. I wish that nectar brewing was still up in Arcata , but this beer has stood the test of time to be one of the best tasting Ipa’s ever. thehinge (244), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Lacing is plentiful. There’s not much to dislike about this IPA. Caramelly, fruity front end with a balanced, hoppy finish. Very good for the style. outerupt (133), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Grapefruit is the most obvious flavor though does not begin to describe the complexities of this beer. Apples, pears, oranges, etc. sweet nectar without being cloying. Nice soapy head shows some birdseye bubbly. All this while being a great session brew. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

Pours a clear amber with a small head. Nose is mostly orange and caramel. Taste is the same, with a somewhat hot acidic finish. Bittersweet honey/english hop aftertaste makes you long for the next drink. Medium body, lightly carbonated. ...a very good...no- a GREAT brew. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 14, 2004 This one was a nice surprise. Pours dark golden/light coppery with a big white head and nice lacing. Aroma of huge hops, fruit, florals, citrus, and honey. Tastes slightly dry, with a nice fruit, hop, citrus, honey, and chardonnay finish. Great smooth finish. labattblueleaf (225), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
