Commercial Description:
Boasting a ruby hue and an exquisite floral aroma, Red Nectar is a robust yet elegant brew with distinctive accents of toasted malt, caramel, spice and residual sweetness. The beer that started it all… Red Nectar was considered a strange bird when it was first released in 1987. After all, where did a robust, handcrafted all-natural amber ale fit into the massive flock of American industrial lagers? Answer: it didn’t. So it blazed its own trail, helping set the pace for the craft brew revolution. Enjoy Red Nectar for its dazzling reddish copper hue, original flavors and caramel spice accents. (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company as "Humboldt Red Nectar Ale" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Beautiful color and aroma with a straightfoward, clean taste that is balanced and refreshing. Hops are apparent but not overwhelming.

The prototypical American Amber. Golden red and clear, with a short, coarse head and fine white lace. Nicely hopped with a gorgeous fruity and flowery nose, and resinous hop finish. Medium body with a perfect balance of malt and hops.

Mahogany hue, head didn’t last long but there was lacing. Great aroma, floral/sweet/hoppy. Consistent flavor. Very good but could be more hoppy.

A nice Northern Cali beer. Sampled a few years ago and then had it again. A nice beer with a thin lacey head at pour and appearance is a nice light amber. Mouthfeel is smooth. Flavor is nice a light hoppy sweet flavor.

From the bottle. I found this to be a very smooth beer with strong hops and a bit of sweetness. Not very complex, but enjoyable.

Amber pour, with fluffy white head that lasts till the end. Not a real strong flavor, but a nice finish.

Pours an ok color. But this is just an ale. THe smell is above average in my opinion for an ale. The taste has a nice bite to for an ale. The mouth feel is really good foe an ale. The drinkability is good for an ale. I could really sit back and just crack these open and down them.

Hops and hints of some sort of tropical flavor. Very well rounded and full bodied. Surprised by how good the beer really was. The aroma was the best aspect of the beer with hints of flowers, fruit, and a little spice.
