Pours deep red-orange with a moderate head. The aroma is heavy with brown sugar; plums meet some citrus hops and a more restrained floral hint. The flavor is certainly malt-heavy, fruity and sweet, not sticky-sweet but rather...why not...nectar sweet, with a good crisip breeze of hops cutting the sweetness down and finishing with a good balance.
This is a good beer; I think I preferred their IPA but in a world where "amber" is so often a synonym for "mediocre" this one is up there with the standouts of the style. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 28, 2006 On draft at Half Moon. Poured an orange-ruby color with a nice head and near perfect lacing. The aroma was of light floral, pine, and citrus hops. Flavor brought out a nice balance of all three hop qualities of the aroma along with some grapefruit dominance, while building on a very light caramel base that had some bready notes mixed in. Citrus-like bitter rinds came through as it warmed, creating a nice zip to the finish. Mouthfeel was full bodied for the style, very nice summer beer. Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA

Clear copper color with off white head. The aroma was mostly all hops with a citrus orange and spicy hops. Very nice and pungent. I taste orange-ish hop flavor along with what seems like Centennial hop bitterness. Excellent hoppy beer.
