| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2005 Aroma of spice for this beer. Deep amber body with off white small head. Flavor has a malty backbone with enough spice flavor to balance a what might of been a sweet malty ale. Warming effect so on a cool night or day should try this one. Mild spicy aftertaste. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 20, 2005 Bottle: pours with a clear red-amber body and a small, quickly fading, light beige head. The aroma is subtle, but does show floral, earthy, and spicy hops with a hint of residual sugary sweetness. Taste initally has an interesting sweetness, like eating red clover. Quickly afterwards, the hops take over for a bit, establishing earthy, floral, spicy hops. Some chewy caramel and bready malt show up towards the middle, then the hops take back over in the finish with bitter floral grass notes that linger on the tongue. Light-medium bodied, medium carbonation, a nice thirst-quenching amber ale that does showcase some quality hops.
