Being as I am rather hummingbird obsessed I had to jump at the chance to try this one. Yeah, I know, not the best of reasons to choose a brew, but I am satisfied with my decision. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright bronze color with a medium sized yellow-cream colored head. The aroma was wonderfully sweet and fruity. The texture is thick. The flavor is sweet and contains ripe fruit, floral and fruity hops and caramel elements. There is a sugary hop finish. Really found this beer to be rather delightful and I will certainly try it again. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 26, 2004 Appearance: bright, dark ruby color, a lovely jewel, aided by an enormous head, off-whitish shade, nearly cocoa, honeycombed with lace.
Aroma: fresh, yeasty, citric, slightly sour, tasty, too.
Taste: smooth-going at first sip, untroubled, and tasty. Minor-key fruit factor. Adequate malt, excellent balance. Delicious, but mild enough, too, to enter the session ale field. Every sip and swallow is it’s own reward, flavor returns and is enjoyed again and again.

Slightly hopped aroma but smells really clean with not a lot of hints of what is to come. Malty flavor with a small aromatic hop bite. Really quite floral. Needs a bit more hops. ricardowess (25), Sedona, Arizona, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2004 Don’t get a chance to drink this often since I moved from California, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. Beautiful amber color, malty with a good dose of hops in the aroma, a rich malty citrus hop flavor, and a smooth, clean, and bitter finish. Nice jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 5, 2004 Pours a fiery amber with a dissapating off white head. Aroma is floral and malty. Taste is of caramel malt, citrus and floral hops. Moderately sweet with a bitter aftertaste. Bold and full bodied-very satisfying. Nice lacing. This is one of the better ambers I’ve had. Very well balanced- recommended.
