Commercial Description:
Boasting a ruby hue and an exquisite floral aroma, Red Nectar is a robust yet elegant brew with distinctive accents of toasted malt, caramel, spice and residual sweetness. The beer that started it all… Red Nectar was considered a strange bird when it was first released in 1987. After all, where did a robust, handcrafted all-natural amber ale fit into the massive flock of American industrial lagers? Answer: it didn’t. So it blazed its own trail, helping set the pace for the craft brew revolution. Enjoy Red Nectar for its dazzling reddish copper hue, original flavors and caramel spice accents. (Editor’s Note: originally brewed by Humboldt Brewing Company as "Humboldt Red Nectar Ale" until their acquisition by Firestone Walker.)

Don’t get a chance to drink this often since I moved from California, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. Beautiful amber color, malty with a good dose of hops in the aroma, a rich malty citrus hop flavor, and a smooth, clean, and bitter finish. Nice

Pours a fiery amber with a dissapating off white head. Aroma is floral and malty. Taste is of caramel malt, citrus and floral hops. Moderately sweet with a bitter aftertaste. Bold and full bodied-very satisfying. Nice lacing. This is one of the better ambers I’ve had. Very well balanced- recommended.

Reddish, amber appearance with a small head. Floral, malty nose with a sweet caramel aroma. Hops were the first to hit the tastebuds, follwed by a wheaty, fruity balancing flavor. Nicely carbonated with a dry, slightly bitter finish.

Can’t really put my finger on the reason I did’nt enjoy this beer. It made me quiver few times when i was at the end of my cup and made me regret going half on the 6 pack. I know lot of people love this beer and rave and rant about it but this is just my honest opinion.

Bottled: Red/orange coloured. Clear. Has an thin off-white head. Is malty and light spicy in the aroma. Has some fruity notes. Hops, malt and some fruits are present in the flavour. Is light bitter, dry and fruity in the end.

I really like this red ale, very tasty. Poured a redish copper color, and light head. Flavor is of malts, and hops. This is a good one.
