Leaves a nice lacing on the side of the glass as you drink it. Aroma was hoppy with a little spicyness and sweet maltiness. Flavor very well balanced and just a little bitter. Palate was smooth, overall very good beer. Elwood (684), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2009 Serving: 12 oz. bottle.
Appearance: Deep amber color with a frothy, light tan head.
Aroma: Spicy hops with pine undertones. Caramel malt and a touch of breadiness. Good so far!
Taste: Mirrors the nose. Light caramel notes with a decent pine hop bitterness. Some bread on the back end. The hops play center stage here, not the malt. A big difference from other versions of the style I have tried.
Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation with a medium body. Medium, bitter finish.
Overall: A straightforward brew that is as tasty as it is uncomplicated.
Rebuy: This is a good everyday drinker if you can find it reasonably priced. Radek Kliber (4000), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada

Appearance: dark amber with presentable large , creamy top. Sticky lace on glass. 4- Nose: Bold , big full out West Coast aromas. With time caramel malts show its presence. Hint of berry and peach. Flavor/Palate : Oily caramel malts well paired with its hops. Rich , but not rough. This ale was made to be very drinkable. Solid quality apparent. Good malt/hop blending.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2009 If there ever is a "great" amber ale, this might just be at or near the top of that catergory. A really enjoyable, session beer with enough malt and enough hops to satisy.
The beer pors out a clear dark amber color with a really creamy, 2" off-white cap. The head retained some semblance of thickness during the enjoyment of this beer. Aroma is nicely floral yet sweet, as if trying to attract the hummingbird on it’s label. Nectar is a good name because it has a definite sweet angle, mostly caramel malts. Flavor reminded me of what it would taste like chewing on a rose covered in caramel. Apples, apricots, a touch piney...wonderful taste. A beacon of light in the darkness of ambers. Smooth medium body. Flavors of mild floral hop again, with a light pit fruit and caramel malty sweetness. ano1ridesthe19 (23), Chico, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Red Nectar has always been a local favorite even over our local Sierra Nevada brewing co. If you had a keg of Red Nectar, people came from all around to make sure it was drained properly. For an amber ale it has got to be one of the best, in a world of boring bland amber ales with the usual disappointing taste. Good nose of hops and fruit and a nice sweet bitterness that never gets old. sunevdj (1788), Copenhagen OE, Denmark

Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Smells hoppy. Bitter with some sweetness. Amarillo and cascade? Medium carbonation. Medium bodied. Bitter finish.
