Flavor of floral and caramel malts with a lot of bitter hops in the finish. Palate is a little watery. On the bitter side for me. Just ok.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear reddish amber with a rocky off white head. Aroma is bready malts and citrus hops. Flavor is malty, toasty caramel with a nice citrus complement. Really well balanced and easy to drink. Better than most of this style. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. RedSox2004 (360), Pacific Palisades, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 26, 2008 Poured reddish brown with a nice head, good retention and decent lacing. Grassy hops aromas dominate with some roasted malts. Strong hops bitterness up front on the tongue followed immediately by a solid malt background that lingered through the aftertaste. Caramel, honey and grapefruit flavors are also evident. Medium body and carbonation, and a pleasant aftertaste that featured the roasted malts and grapefruit. Given what I paid for this, it is one of the better beer values out there. LtDan (522), Los Angeles County, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2008 Found it at Von’s Pavillions in Monrovia, CA. Very crisp, refreshing, and perfectly hopped. A very underrated beer that could be mixed in with your regular session. Don’t be fooled by the word Red, it is more a west coast pale ale than an "amber ale" in everything but the color.
