Thought by the label that this beer would be sweeter than it actually was. Aroma is caramel malt, trace of fresh flowers. Flavor is caramel malts, with a very light hop finish. A bit watered-down. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 28, 2008 From a 22 oz. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is sweet, a little maly and some flowery hops. Appearance is coppery amber with a rocky light tan head. Flavor is a toasty, nutty maly character that has a little sweetness. A little roasted character in the finish. Hop bitterness balance the sweetness and a little citrusy hop flavor cuts through the malt. Clean on the palate, finish is dry. A well balanced amber that is very drinkable. kidmartinek (986), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2008 Pours deep amber, clody red. Little head, malty, caramel, floral, bitter nose. Flavor starts medium hop bitter, develops into light cream malt with floral notes, and hops. Nose isn’t so malty that it sets you off, which is important. Pleasant, rich, refreshing thick but flowing texture. Flavor is full good, malty, hoppy and welll, just good. Probably the only red worth buying again. Why? Because Firestone put hops in this one, one of the 4 essesntial ingredients of beer, according to the German purity law of fourten or fifteen hundred and some-odd what not, and kidmartinek agrees post haste. Beer has a malt aftertaste that is balanced by its’ hops. obguthr (1046), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 29, 2008 Poured from bottle a chestnut brown with slightest red tint and a medium sized ecru foam head. Aromas of fruity hops sort of an apricot with some malt and a touch of roast grain. At first taste a nice malty sweetness comes through with some light roasted grains coupled with a very mild bitter hoppiness that grows somewhat. Nice beer, very drinkable and not overly filling. I will buy more. kyzr (1123), Belgrade, Montana, USA
