Aromas of fruity hops sort of an apricot with some malt and a touch of roast grain. At first taste a nice malty sweetness comes through with some light roasted grains coupled with a very mild bitter hoppiness that grows somewhat. Nice beer, very drinkable and not overly filling. I will buy more. kyzr (1132), Belgrade, Montana, USA

Flavor is full malty and sweet with just a touch of roast. Very straight forward amber ale that is smooth and easy to drink. hapjydeuce (774), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Had this rating stored in my cell phone until I stumbled upon it recently. On tap at Matt Denny’s Bar & Grill in Arcadia, CA in December ’07 while having a big burger with the girlfriend. Adequate session beer with a nice clear amber color and white lace. Low alcohol makes it refreshing and easy to drink. Nice malt and hop combo that finishes crisp. Good for quenching your thirst with a hearty meal. jarspag (600), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2008 12 oz bottle. Solid example of an amber ale...flavorful, refreshing, sessionable, sippable, overall a nice brew. Nice hop bite for such a low gravity beer. Taverner (888), San Ramon, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2008 A great session ale! Mild but strong - know what I mean? Pours a brilliant red with a foamy white head not unlike the surf of Humboldt County. Flavor is hoppy - yet restrained. The malts are muted, so the hops are present despite coming from an IPA or whatever....
There is an almost woody flavor lurking in this stuff - you have to drink it a little warmer to notice it. bbbrew (183), Washington DC, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 11, 2007 Looks like a decent amber, with nice head retention and consistent lacing. Downhill from there. Standard N. California citric aroma. Somewhat dry and very sour flavor with lots of grapefruit. Carbonation on the high side. Alcohol flavor not apparent, but this is mainly a result of low gravity, not any brewing magic. Just OK. shakespeare33 (120), san diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 11, 2007 on tap at capital ale house, richmond va..nov 6th.. pours a dark amber with a little cloud head.. smells of earthy hops but very subtle.. the initial hit to the palate is very crisp with a light sweetness and then appropriately a smooth malty finish. The hops linger to give hints of a powerful aftertaste but instead it the flavor settles right in.. very solid amber..
